From the artistic director, Linda L. Tedford
Our Legacy CDs celebrate a history of 40 years of choral artistry. To mark this significant anniversary, we present two discs of previously unreleased recordings from live performances. Both CDs, one drawn from Candlelight Christmas concerts and the other from spring events,
include many pieces that have been particularly moving or meaningful to our singers and audiences.
When I consider the Chorale today, I see the image of a beautiful tree, one that has grown and flourished through many seasons. Planted by
the seed of my young and hopeful imagination over forty years ago, it took root and grew beyond my dreams and imagination. Multiplying and
dividing like a trees branches, the Chorale expanded from 11 singers to the current 39, and from one choir to five, including our Educational
Outreach choirs. It has put down deep roots with an ever-increasing audience that now extends far beyond central Pennsylvania, where
attending our concerts has become a beloved tradition for many.
Together, the Legacy recordings and concert programming celebrate the relationship between our audiences and the hundreds of singers who have been a part of the
Susquehanna Chorale family. Our commitment to artistic excellence and enriching lives with song is just as deep as it was when our tree was planted so long ago. I hope
that you will experience our joy in singing as you listen to the Legacy recordings, savoring some of the most magical moments of our 40 years. |
