TubaSongs is a collection of lyrical music that is written for tuba, commonly performed by tubists, or music that I just enjoy playing. The music contained in this album comes from a wide array of musical genres and idioms. You will hear music written for cello, flute, trumpet, horn, and voice that comes from venues as diverse as the concert hall to the Broadway stage. As this is an album dedicated to lyrical music, I have included movements of larger scale works that I believe stand alone in the context of the album. I hope that you enjoy this collection and that it is something that you will listen to in other contexts than simply an album of solo tuba music.
