The Mansfield University Concert Choir is the premier touring choir of Mansfield University, a small university in rural northcentral Pennsylvania, USA. Under the direction of Dr. Peggy Dettwiler for thirty-five years, the choir has appeared at conventions and festivals around the world including numerous conferences of the American Choral Directors Association, the National Collegiate Choral Organization, the Pennsylvania State Music Educators, and the National Association for Music Educators. On the international stage, the choir has won top prizes in international competitions garnering eight Gold Medals at the World Choir Games. They have also performed in Carnegie Hall on five occasions including professional performances as the Nuns’ Chorus in The Sound of Music and Carnegie’s Gala Concert of Candide garnering a “superb†review in the New York Times. Most recently, the Mansfield University Concert Choir was the winner of the 2021 American Prize in Choral Performance for the College/University Division (small program.) The Concert Choir has performed in nineteen countries during their nine European Tours, and the group has produced nineteen CD recordings on the Mark Custom Recording Label.
